however, aron was rescued and he is now doing fine. aron ralston is a real-life adventurer who got his arm stuck in a boulder in a utah canyon, and had to cut it off to survive. ralston, who is now a successful businessman and motivational speaker, told the denver post, “i was going to die. and i was terrified about it.” ralston was reading a book about the human body when he realized what he had to do. the book had a picture of a woman who had cut off her own arm in order to free it from a piece of concrete. at the time, ralston was working as a back-country guide. he decided to try the same method and cut his arm off. when he cut it, it didn’t hurt. at first, he thought it was just numb. but it was actually just blood.
the screenplay is an interesting tale about an armadillo that is trapped in a tight crevice and needs to be rescued. i’m going to assume that anybody watching the movie read the book and have a good general idea of what will happen. but, i won’t spoil the surprise and say anything more here.
i also uploaded a nice free download of this film with photos below. below that, i have screencaptured the photos. the whole thing will download in about 1.5-2 gb. but i have to tell you that it is a bit of an eyesore. theres no lettering, no borders, no nothing. but it is perfect for printing out and framing!
Starring James Franco and Danny Boyle, this is one movie I was so excited to see. I enjoyed how it came together, even though there were certain areas that could’ve been improved. Some of the CGI in this film was pretty impressive. I think the only thing that kind of let it down was the music, I always find myself taking that into consideration when thinking about a film. The film’s message was quite powerful and I think it gave off a sense of how lucky we all are. I think I am in the minority when I say this but the film got out of its depth towards the end. But I’m not saying that it was a bad film, I just think it should’ve been done better. All in all, I felt that it was a decent movie and I would recommend it to anyone, especially I think anyone that has a lot of time on their hands. It was a very visual and satisfying movie to watch. 6/10 A. Hidalgo
I would say they got the basic outline right. There were some items that they got wrong as far as the details. It wasn’t a movie about one individual. My story was a handful of stories that I had in an archive in my head in my head. They were there. They just kind of interpolated them into something greater than I could express through my own words. So I’m very happy with the film. It’s not my favorite movie I’ve ever done.
They got the message, it’s not enough to take what’s given and just survive. But I don’t know if they did justice. It’s a personal story, so I don’t know how much it meant to them or to anyone else. They made it an uplifting story, and I agree with that. It’s an uplifting movie. It wasn’t something that was going to suck anybody down or be depressing.
