Part II: Photoshop Photo Manipulation
Part II contains five chapters, each of which covers a topic related to the use of Photoshop to manipulate digital photos.
These chapters include:
* **Using the Save for Web and Devices Options:** In this chapter, you use Photoshop’s Save for Web and Devices Options dialog box to take advantage of Photoshop’s web-optimized tools, such as its ability to retain the natural colors of photographs when you save for the web. In addition, you find out how to access a special set of tools that makes it easier to create print-ready images.
* **Text:** This chapter includes instructions on how to create and manipulate text and clip art in Photoshop. You discover how to create text effects and how to convert photos to illustrations, as well as how to add clip art to your photo-editing projects.
* **Design:** In this chapter, you find out how to create and modify the look of your images with the various tools that are included with Photoshop. You discover how to manipulate colors using levels and curves, how to do simple photo corrections, how to add a new background, and much more.
* **Techniques:** Part II’s first chapter is for all digital photographers. No matter which photo-editing program you use, you’ll find that most of the techniques you’ll learn in this chapter are easy to adapt to Photoshop.
* **Retouching:** This chapter teaches you how to make basic retouching and red-eye reduction adjustments.

Lightroom CC is also available as a subscription-based service or as a standalone product for photo editing.
Photoshop is undoubtedly the most popular version of Photoshop and is also the most powerful. The focus of the app is editing photos, but it has many features that can be useful for other tasks, such as Web design and free graphics editing. Photographers use Photoshop for retouching and adding creative effects to their images. Graphic designers make things look more professional using the app’s features.
But for many other reasons, you might be using Photoshop for other things that you weren’t aware of. Photoshop isn’t the only photo editor on the market. Here are a few alternatives worth checking out.
GIMP
Adobe Photoshop was the first to introduce layers in Photoshop, and people tend to believe GIMP is one-dimensional. But GIMP has a steep learning curve and it isn’t recommended for beginners. You won’t be able to achieve the same level of sophistication using it.
Adobe Photoshop’s features are much more extensive and powerful. It has all the features that you would expect from a professional photo editor. If you want the GIMP of Photoshop, you’ll have to look elsewhere.

Writer’s block. I’m not really sure what to make of it. It’s when you write a paragraph, the next time you try to write a paragraph, you stare at the blank screen and have no idea where to begin, or what to write. It’s a word you never want to see in a headline, but now it comes to me when I least expect it. Unrelenting, it won’t let you write.
It’s different, though, than not being able to write at all. For me, not being able to write at all will eventually get you out of bed and to your computer. But writer’s block can last longer. You sit at your desk, but words won’t come. You get in your car and drive, but you’ll find yourself coming up empty, with nothing to say.
I think writer’s block is a combination of something else: time. It’s easy to sit and stare at a blank screen for hours, as I have on occasion. More than that, I think it’s the waiting. When you’re in the process of writing, you’re time-travelling. You’re there. You’re now. Your characters may be playing chess, or beating each other to a pulp, but you’re here. You’re at your desk, looking at a blank screen. But you’re not. You’re somewhere else.
This is the case with writer’s block. It’s when you’re at a story, the very essence of a story, and everything else becomes meaningless. Writing is an act of self-creation, an act of creation. It’s not about imitation. You’re not writing something. You’re writing something you create. An act of creation. And when you’re at that story, the only thing that matters is you writing the next sentence, the next paragraph, and you don’t care where you end up. All you want is to go back to the beginning and write again.
Maybe that’s why I write in the first place. So you get lost in the story, lost in the world, so much so that you can’t come back to reality. So much so that even staring at a blank screen isn

How do I add a text element to a TableLayoutPanel?
I want to add a TextBox element into a TableLayoutPanel, as I can do with any other control.
The problem is that I can’t seem to find any property that’s comparable to Control.Controls.Add().
How can I add the textbox?

TableLayoutPanel has 3 properties:
Columns
GridLines
Rows
Columns and GridLines are visual representation of the items in the table. The TextBox must be placed into a Container Panel for it to be placed in the TableLayoutPanel.
TableLayoutPanel.Controls.Add(ContainerPanel);
ContainerPanel needs to have the following properties:
Name
Dock
Location
Width
Height
In addition the Data property must point to the appropriate TextBox. The default Control for TextBox is the standard one, but you can add your own Control class for it too.
Q:
In Java, Is there a way to specify source and target for Java compilation?
I know in common compilers like gcc, python etc there is a way to specify on command line where should the output be generated.
And in JAVA Compiler there is a option -d to specify where we want to store the output.
My question is whether we can pass this option to java compiler or not.

You can make your own compiler – that is, a compiler that accepts -d options and has some magic – but it’s not a good idea, as they tend to be very big and complicated.
There’s no accepted standard way for the Java compiler to receive such options. You can use -d on the command line, but only if the -d option is defined by the runtime environment (or whatever you use to run the JVM).
Java is designed to be very portable. There is no single “well-defined” way to do anything that a JVM might do, and even within the Java specification there are numerous implementations, and even versions.
