liliana snchez is a native of venezuela and she earned her phd in medieval studies at the university of iowa. after living in the us for many years, she came back to her native country to teach at the university of chile, focusing on quechua and aymara scripts. now she lives in chicago, happily married with two children and working at the university of illinois-chicago, where she is investigating the semantic function of art in living environments. and yes, she has been modeling art for almost a decade, though she is getting better!
liliana is co-editor of art in the digital age (spark journal, spring 2014), a venue that publishes the work of academics in the field. the book also publishes peer-reviewed research and her interest in the field of art models is all the more clear, since she actually stands among the artists in the field. her work is on display in a solo exhibition at the ago museum of contemporary art in chicago until may 15th, including an installation of drawing models called liliana model that imitates the work of contemporary artists like liliana porter and jeffrey vallance.

the design of an online working environment requires various expertise. among others, the design of html5-based ui is a major challenge of the web 2.0, because it has to support a huge amount of devices having different screens and different input facilities. the current hta-based ui underlines html5, in which the html5 canvas technology has been used to do ui designs on web 2.0, so that it can be applied on any devices or platforms without browser extensions. this paper presents a first effort to reuse the canvas technology and extend the css stylesheet provided by hta, in order to make an expert system for consulting university and high schools. the expert system consists of various parts for learning, such as rules based knowledge, classification, and demonstration for human assistance in case of a problem with the knowledge source.
this paper discusses effects of server configuration on the performance of spatial join in a large-scale data grid environment. spatial join is a type of query processing that joins data based on the spatial relation between them. we developed a data grid application for spatial join. we measured the performance of processing large-scale data for spatial join on a data grid using the grid. the result shows that the performance is inversely proportional to the storage size, which is one of important factors of the performance of spatial join.
in this paper, we review important legal issues concerning hidden parts of network-driven computers, with a focus on tamper-proofing by cryptography. we will also explain conventional approaches to the problem of hidden code running at the same level as regular code, and the resulting secure programming methodologies and their practical implications. in this context, we shall discuss the following related issues: the importance of executable code in software; the importance of dynamic logic; the problem of hidden logic; the significance of compiler transformations; the issue of provenance awareness; the issue of authentication and integrity; the problem of safe execution; the importance of being able to prove correctness; and the place of verification.
