the anime follows an unnamed man who wakes up one day to find himself in an unfamiliar world. his name is casshern, and he was told that his “duty is to protect the world, no matter what.” however, casshern does not know how he came to be in this new world, and he does not know how to return to his old world. his left eye is glowing as if it is sending out a message, and a mysterious woman named luna appears to know of casshern’s existence.
while the us publisher of the anime is viz media, the anime is licensed in north america by funimation. the localization of casshern sins on dvd was overseen by christophe giaro, and as funimation’s vp of marketing, he was the man in charge of gathering the information needed for a complete localization of the anime. funimation has dubbed many anime over the years, including fullmetal alchemist, one piece, and naruto. however, casshern sins is the first of its kind for the company. the people who worked on the anime dub are the same as those who localized the anime for viz media, and several of them were also the people who previously worked on the cowboy bebop dub. this means that the american audio team could work on the dub of the anime with the same efficiency as the other localized versions. they would do everything from editing and mixing the dialogue, to voicing the characters, and would even do their own characterization of the characters.
as it stands, the app is all about recording shows (such as local broadcasts) and downloading them from the web. there’s no quick way to scan through hulu’s library, and it’s not a free service, unlike netflix or amazon prime, which allows streaming. hulu subscribers can download shows, but it requires you to click through to the platform through your cable or satellite provider’s app.
