Derelict is a top down sandbox shooter. Set in the far distant future, the ship you wake up in is a derelict vessel. Luckily, you awoke before the crew perished in a failed space mission and the ship is in perfect working order. By yourself you must explore the derelict to find the ship’s systems, and recover any crew member who’s still onboard. However don’t think that because this game is a top down shooter that it will hold your hand. You must scavenge for supplies, both to survive and to make weapons for a fight with hordes of enemies and dangerous androids.
It is very hard.

I totally quit on a money issue that kicked in shortly after I had about 8 people working on the game, all without pay. Not so long after that two of those eight, gone. Losing money was devastating to morale, and I took the next four months to rework the entire game before I was ready to pull the trigger on a release. I had a lot of that rework done, and a lot of the features did not make it into the release, because of that. It could well be that the footage shows the half finished androids and weapons rather than what will be included in the final game. I will never make that mistake again. From now on I will make sure that the game is polished and ready for release before funding the game.

Acute-onset polyneuropathy (CIDP) is largely restricted to the nervous system in immunocompetent patients. In patients with chronic CIDP, however, the clinical picture is usually dominated by non-neuronal symptoms, such as muscle pain or wasting. We report on a 33-year-old man presenting with chronic symmetrical limbic polyneuropathy. We briefly review the differential diagnosis between humoral and cellular forms of CIDP. MRI shows subcortical signal alterations and optic nerve atrophy. Postganglionic sensory fibre-mediated potentials from the superficial peroneal nerve in response to electrical stimulation over the proximal leg using a low current were completely absent. Muscle nerve biopsy showed a loss of function with preserved connective tissue. Immunoglobulin synthesis could be excluded by CVID screening. The Derelict is an FPS/TPS where all of your squad mates are procedurally generated, and your location is randomly generated each time you start a new game.
A vast, procedurally generated, open world awaits you, and you’ll need to work together to craft your own path through it.
Friendship is paramount to survival, and some of the most dangerous enemies you may come up against are other players.

Derelict is a top down sandbox game, in the spirit of Rez or Terraria.
You’ve awoken in the far future after the fall of mankind. Your derelict has been saved from the scrapyard and you need to save the world. The derelict is good and safe. It’s also a terrible, terrible mess, and you need to explore it, stay safe and fight. Lots of fighting.
You will travel through 50+ derelict spacecraft, from the familiar Medion Altus to the absolutely insane Enturia.
You will fight hundreds of enemies, from the giant fire breathing spider to the vile robot that live on toxic planets. There are no cut scenes and your ship is only useful to you, no one else in the game.
Your weapons and defenses are totally up to you, as you craft, scavenge, pick locks, solve puzzles and work with the environment to survive. The sky is your oyster.
It looks cool, because it is cool. Procedural generation, randomly generated environments, jumping and shooting.

It’s a top down game, so if you don’t like that, then don’t bother.
Game Maker has been used to build the game, using a programming language not particularly designed for games, so what the game maker 2 editor has given me is a monster of a coding mess. I will, however be releasing a C++ version soon as well.
I’ve put a lot of work into developing the various game systems, many of which are reworked from the ground up. The game was developed to be’social’, where you could play through, and that’s still the case, just the number of players has increased from 2 to any number of players. There is still gamepad support, and the entire game can be saved, so if you beat the game, you can keep your progress even if you lose your save file. The save system is one of my favorite features. There are over 100 ‘constants’ in the game, and it’s incredibly easy to add more, for instance the features of a new planet can be added to the game by adding an ‘enemy’ function to one of the constants. The most challenging part of the game was the incredibly complex gun system, and this has been reworked extensively. There are over 70 guns in the game, over 30 of which are craftable. There are 5 classes of gun, each with their own ammo and damage stats. Some of the guns have names too. The game now runs a lot smoother too. The game used to run at roughly 20 frames per second, now it’s closer to 60, and while you might not notice much difference, it really shows when something crazy happens (such as a player trying to run away while fighting the biggest beast in the game).
I’ve also added additional game types. As you’ve guessed, and as you can see, the game now has a slightly more complex set of rules, so you may die, but at least you can take your stuff with you when you do, and the game continues.
The engine also has a completely redone jump system, and it’s been made so that at the end of the game there are no jumps, you simply carry on. The game is pretty fast paced, it’s very hard to die, and I’m pretty proud of that.
This update includes the new game-maker 2 editor, which has a lot of bugs, and an extremely limited set of features, but they’re trying to fix that. I’ve used it
