the special new updates from avm for the fritzbox 3490 and the fritzbox 7580 all have one main benefit: in order to use the internet of things (iot), which is a big thing at the moment, they have implemented a simple new feature that will basically prioritize specific computers at the fritzbox that should be connected to the internet. this will also mean that the fritzbox has the advantages in the office for the first time, so that the fritzbox is used much more efficiently. with the update of the fritzbox 3490 to the fritzos 7.29, this feature will even be described as the only improvement.
in the meantime i have found which encryption and hashing algorithms the fritzbox uses by default, so that we can simply use the default settings of the fritzbox and therefore the web interface built into fritzos 7.x:
i tried around with the setpoint in your first post but same result as befor. values do reset. it seems like there is a write protection on the fritzbox.
maybe there is trouble with the types. but setpoint bypasses the rule and writes directly to the item and the log shows that the value is written to the openhab item. so the number type shoult be ok.
