PERSONAL STORY:

Hexcells is set in a Tower where there are many floors. There is one specific Sky room on the 42nd floor that all of the players go through at start. At that time the sky is full of Monster Battlers (Players) that are SUPPOSED to be fighting for control of the Tower. In reality, (at least according to my many hours of testing) the sky is actually full of Nothing (Hexcells is Void). This Void is a Battlefield between powerful Monsters that will not rest until they have exterminated the rest of those who remain in the Tower.
