As we have mentioned above, many radios, particularly older Chinese made models, have different variations or models. For example, in the above case the example model is the 810-D-710. However, what is below is the model ID of that particular radio. Only this set of model IDs will be able to be programmed from the software and if you change the radio ID from the example above, the software will not recognize that you have changed the radio and be able to program. Thus, you need to know your actual radio model ID before you start programming. This can be achieved by looking at the FCC part number of the radio and either find a manual for that radio or check the radio itself.
In this video I show you the process of downloading and installing a sample of the KIRISUN programming software on Windows XP. The program is a free download and can be downloaded directly from the website. It is only available for Windows XP at the moment and can only be used to program the EU TKR-D810 to 440-470MHz.
Part 2 below shows you how to program the radio using this software. The basic flow of the program is the same with all radios and as shown below will navigate you to the menu where you select the programming mode and further to the programming information window. This will show the parameters of the radio as well as the programming ranges for the radio. Then finally, you select the programming mode and press the “Program” button in this windows to get the radio ready to go.
Now all of a sudden you notice that QT/DQT has turned Green! If it hasnt then it simply means that you arent allowed to use the tones. Its as simple as that. Please ensure you are allowed to use the tones and your licence is up to date before programming anything.
