685 Manually Program Zones: (Active) This operation is active during manual zone programming. This operation can be used to add new zones, delete a zone, or modify an active zone. The operation is done on the current zone, or an existing zone (multiple zone entry and deletion). If a new zone is created, the device is assigned a new Device ID, (00 through 17). To add a new zone to a device, an active zone must be deleted first, then a new zone created in its place. If a previously deleted zone is re-activated, the device will be assigned its new Device ID and Zone Text. A number of add zone operations may be allowed for each Zone Descriptors. This is done in the following manner: 1) First, each zone is assigned the maximum number of add zone operations allowed (active). 2) The system then determines the Zone Descriptors and assigns an address of the Zone Descriptors. 3) A block code is stored with the Zone Descriptors for the zone. The block code is a letter abbreviation that corresponds to the zone number. As the letter abbreviation is read, the zone is activated and put into the active/config block. 4) As the Zone Descriptors are read, it is determined whether they are valid. If the zone is valid, then it is activated and all of the zones for that descriptors will be programmed. 5) If the zone is not valid, the next zone with an active number is used.
Each manual pull station requires its own pull station kit. Regardless of the occupancy, the kit will contain (at a minimum) a pull station (officer/fire fighter), a manual wire/cable and an operating device.
Most pull station kits come with a manual wiring diagram that includes the names of the wires and the colors they are designated with. Each pull station kit will have the same colors for the wires and will use the same color number for each wire in each pull station. Most pull station kits will have the following:
