He further criticised United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s remarks saying that Lashkar-e-Taiba and the Taliban have now been engaged in talks to form some sort of a ‘government in exile’ in Pakistan, which is “false and misleading”.

On 3 November 2012, he said that if Musharraf provided the Sindh government with a written undertaking, “we will not stand in the way of a government and a parliament that is based on secular democratic principles”. He criticised the Election Commission of Pakistan and the Chief Justice of Pakistan for their conduct in the general elections which he said were manipulated by Rawalpindi politicians.
