superauthor can be used to create sacd “r” for all types of digital file formats, as well as sacd disk image and blu-ray. using superauthor is more convenient, and it is more flexible than some other sacd creation tools. superauthor is easy to use, and does not need any experience in mastering, calibration, or post-processing.
superauthor is available for pc and mac. all operating systems are supported, including windows 98/xp/vista/7/8/8.1/10. users should check if their operating system is 64-bit or 32-bit before purchase. once purchased, an external tool or adobe premiere is required to open superauthor files.
superauthor can convert all the sacd and sacd “r” mastered using any digital recorder, into high-quality sacd “r” or sacd disk image. superauthor can play back these recordings, as well as send them into the digital processor directly. unlike other (manufacturer’s) software that uses a 32-bit processor, superauthor uses a 64-bit processor. this allows processing the audio much faster, and makes the conversion process even smoother.
superauthor is developed by philips digital systems lab, and the product was initially known as philips mdk. the major function of the program is the mastering of sacds. superauthor is based on synchronous audio connection detection protocol (sacd-r). superauthor supports both linear and non-linear master/slave operations. when you select the sacd-r option and the “f” input signal, superauthor creates and transfers a new sacd disk image from the player.

this release is somewhat less feature rich than the previous 4.0.3.0 but the new audio check feature is very useful in dealing with cd-rw issues. i can now remember to check audio cds before printing and get problems fixed when recording lots of music.
a number of issues were identified in the flash based editing system. issues include cd image issues when up and loading a session, recording cd issues, and playback issues on a mac. we are working to correct as many of these issues as possible.
in version 4, we introduced a new recording engine. we were very impressed with the response of the studio musicians we tested the sacd on. recording was very smooth, with excellent sound quality. one of the major issues we found was that several attempts to save the recording failed on users computers. it could be that a firewalled or antivirus engine was deleting files. this may be a little deceptive but as a result of the new recording engine we now get a message when it fails to save.
the super audio cd plug-in now supports the sacd audio standard that allows the playback of dvds on your cd player. super author provides audio engineers with tools for the accurate creation of sacds. the combination of sacd and super audio cd plug-in now makes it possible to convert all your favourite cds to a high quality audio standard. it can be used to build multi-channel and stereo sacds with the high quality audio standard (dsd) from the super audio cd format.
but once sacds became an accepted standard, the audio recording companies recognized that sacds offered superior audio quality and higher sound dynamics compared to cd, but could not sell the discs themselves because consumer-grade cd players could not play them.
