By tapping the PDF icon in the main Files panel, you can access the project file by using any of the project tag options — Category, PDF, Template, Client and Song. You can even view the page as a flat 2D image, if you want to block out or outline areas. The pane also shows thumbnails of any art you’ve made. To go back to the tag list,“open” the PDF file and select the Category option.
The Lasso tool (short: Lasso) is an excellent tool for drawing shapes within or around an existing image. Your mouse moves to a smaller circle within the larger circle, and when you quit dragging, the smaller circle is added to the image. You can click-and-drag to add more shapes. It’s a great way to draw straight lines or curvy, imaginative paths between separate images.
The Sponge tool (short: Sponge) is very similar to the Eraser tool. You can change the eraser’s size, hardness, or color, and with it, you can blend colors together, creating a fading gradient similar to real-world putty. You can also make custom patterns that you can flood your artwork with; for instance, you can remove a part of a house to leave a damp, dried-out, crumbling path where the front door used to be.
What It Does: The Pen tool makes painting a snap. You control the line or shape of your stroke with the tool and then paint. You can even erase the center of your painting to create interesting triangular and other custom shapes.
Use the Quick Selection tool (short: Active Layer) to grab an image, slice it, toss it, and reuse its contents. You can also paint selection areas with the Brush, Thumb, and Transfer tools and then copy and “paste” them within the image to repaint them with different colors.
What It Does: The Channels tool is used to change the gray-scale or color of a specific area of your picture. This lets you change the overall look of just one area while keeping the rest of the picture the same.
