I can confirm that there seem to be issues with the new update (I’ve got 750 on LR CS6, which is currently at version 15.0.2125.2960).
The problem is that you can’t save layers into files (Layer > Save As) as soon as you create a new document or image; use Save As and it works. The save options are not available in the new version of LR.
Hope this is not a permanent problem for you.

CS6 handles layers better than CS5. Which is good. CS6 handles layers more equally than CS5, which is bad. Trouble is it doesn’t handle layers in any way that is intuitive to us or its users. Nice try but your attempt is unprofessional. Please adjust your behavior accordingly.
