I still have two issues with Photoshop, however. One is that while you can still use the Ctrl+A command to select everything on a photo, you can no longer use the Shift+Ctrl+A shortcut. I wonder if the new range of tools found here will prove to be too much for some users. There is a certain amount of confusion, especially since some of them resemble the tools you have been using for so long. The Basic tool palette, which now has an overlay to its many tools, is purportedly easier for new users, but it is still not as intuitive as the old one. I don’t mind user-friendly interfaces, but I miss simplicity. And when you switch between tools, you need to relearn how to use them because the default commands are no longer what they used to be.
Photoshop is a solid program that stays at the top of its class. You might not need it every day, but when you do, you’ll know where to go. However, as you might imagine, the suggestions really quickly get in the way of you doing what you wanted to do. I have found that one of the benefits of the PS on Photoshop is that you can do anything in almost any way towards the end of the day. For example, if you know you want to remove a green screen, you probably want to do it quite quickly. But if I wanted to ‘un-sketch’ a human face, I’d probably want to do it using multiple steps which could take a while.
