The command to download a single file from a remote url is –

Inhalation toxicity testing of nitrofuran-derivatives.
A series of three nitrofuran-derivatives was tested for their capacity to be absorbed by rats after inhalation. They were N-allylthioamino-2-nitrofen (ATNF), N-ethythiomino-2-nitrofen (ETNF), and N-butylthioamino-2-nitrofen (BTNF). The compounds were administered by inhalation in concentrations of 10, 100, 1000, 10,000 and 100,000 ppm (BTNF) and 50,000, 100,000 and 1000 ppm (ETNF and ATNF), respectively. The compounds were administered to groups of eight male and female rats per group. The animals were subjected to a whole-body exposure of at least 15 min and followed up for at least 10 days. Clinical signs and parameters monitored included behavioural, ophthalmic and pathological parameters. The inhalation exposure of the rats to a concentration of 100,000 ppm led to a significant increase in mortality, the cause of which remained unclear. A concentration of 10,000 ppm to 100,000 ppm provoked a treatment-related reduction in body-weight gain. Signs of pulmonary damage, such as irritation of the nose and pharynx, as well as of the airways, were observed. The clinical signs observed following inhalation exposure of 100,000 ppm as well as of 10,000 ppm of ETNF and BTNF were noxious. The inhalation toxicity of ETNF, BTNF and ATNF was comparable with that of the reference substance nitrofurazone. Both 100,000 ppm and 10,000 ppm of ATNF caused a significant increase in stomach-body-weight ratio and an increase in the extent of gastric ulceration. The results of this study suggest that the compounds BTNF, ETNF and ATNF are not completely appropriate for
