Baked Fries And Baked Corn

I’m never one to pass up a crunchy side of any kind, but I find myself craving these more and more lately. I would never normally think to make both the ingredients for these into one meal, but the pairing is everything.

So that’s how I came across the idea of this baked fries recipe and it is simply a genius idea. Whenever you are craving something crunchy and corn-y, just bake it. These taste exactly like a really good order of French fries, but with a clean corn flavor to them.

I was amazed at how much the flavor of the fries is really carried through. It’s the perfect dish for everyone to come together and have a great time cooking, and eating. It’s quite a meal in itself. Enjoy!

Directions

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large bowl, combine the potatoes, corn kernels, butter, salt, and pepper. Toss well to coat the potatoes evenly. Pour the oil into a 9×13 baking pan and top evenly with the potato mixture. Spread out evenly so that all of the potatoes sit snugly together and make a uniform layer. Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the pan and sprinkle the chives on top. Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.

This looks so delicious. I’m a big fan of corn and baked fries, but I do most things baked, so I have never thought to bake the potatoes and corn together. I’ll have to try this one. Thank you for sharing it!

I feel like I’m in Corn Land right now. I love how creamy and cheesy the mac and cheese is in this and the baked corn… that is my favorite corn to dip in melted butter. Actually, now I want to dip my baked corn into melted butter and dip it into more corn, lol!

I am a new fan of baking! I have a new cookbook: Simple Baking 3 by Dorie Greenspan. It has been a wonderful book. The only problem is that my oven is too small and this recipe just won’t fit in

Pymouse

PyMouse provides cross-platform mouse event handling in pure Python. All movement and click events are a snap to type and use on both Windows, Linux, OSX and whatever other OS you care to mention. The only thing that isn’t a snap to type is the underlining ‘bmp’ like appearance of the mouse pointer.

What’s New In?

pymouse is a pure Python cross-platform mouse control module.
pymouse is meant to be used as an advanced or replacement for pynmouse (an older module). pymouse has a way more feature-set.

I cannot upgrade the module for 2 reasons:

Python 2.7 has been deprecated since 2.6 and is now officially no longer supported.
The module is currently at 0.3.1 and this version is currently at 0.7.1.

Is there a way for me to get past these problems to release the module?

A:

You need to create a py2app.app on windows.

Hello everyone!
I have been looking through some of the forums and found a question that I have been able to answer myself, so I thought I would share.

My daughter is 9 years old and for the past 6 months she has been having very vivid night terrors that wake her up screaming to the point that she can be causing us a lot of stress. The thing I have not been able to find is does anyone know what causes these nightly dreams? We have had many doctors over the years (that we have been to) and I was under the impression that it was some sort of psychological disorder that was effecting the kids. The medicine we have been given for her has helped some but it also causes some side effects such as hyperactivity, aggression, emotional outbursts and the list goes on.

Any information would be very helpful.

Thanks,

–Sue Ann

Tomk

Well, she sounds like she has some sort of night terror disorder. While there are many people that will tell you that all children have nightmares, most studies have shown that a quarter of children do have sleep disorders, and many of these disorders are due to psychological problems. If this is her case, it can definitely be treated. I would recommend taking her to her neurologist and asking the doctor for a referral to a good sleep disorder specialist.

However, if her concerns are specific, I would suggest consulting with a sleep disorder specialist, because night terrors are one of a number of many possible disorders (REM sleep disorder, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy, etc.).

I hope this helps.
