      What’s new in Elden Ring:

      Normally, I’m not much of a fan of this genre… but after just checking out the character creation, I was pretty impressed. Very clean UI that doesn’t take away from the gameplay. Aesthetically pleasing and a lot less fiddly than a lot of GUIs out there. The combat seems like some good fun. Looks like getting hit hurts – not a lot of damage done on bosses in the early levels but it looks like it gets worse. In terms of the story, I can’t read it – but its interesting how the settings in the little maps are not static. They seem to generate when the map is first used and you see a lot of countries and cities that can be clicked on. Maybe represents areas that you’ll get to visit? Its cool to see a fantasy game in this style that actually show what a fantasy game should look like – in a good way. Feels like the game is somewhere in between the likes of SKULL AND BONES (where you seem to be doing a lot of grinding on monsters and quests on a closed offline world) and the likes of X-COM (where flying attacks and death missiles explode out from the suburbs of your base)._________________A life of music and happiness is ahead, You only need kindness to reach your goals. – Character creation: Mid-ranged power, fine-tuned across various play styles on a fantasy themed setting.
