and so once again i had to admit defeat, and i then went off to play the table-top shooter as you do. but this time i didnt really get very far into the game because the first boss, the metal-skeletoned whore, was so damn difficult and i just didnt have enough health potions to take it out, nor enough bullet ammo to kill it. i know its normal that a new table has a difficulty curve, and i know that it really is supposed to be a lot harder than the first two games (i swear i dont know why they call it senran kagura peach ball and not simply senran kagura peach, because this is definitely more of an action game than the first two (theyre action games right? -.- i just really hate that they keep refering to them as pinball games ). but there was just something that kept holding me back. i needed a new pinball table. i re-fought that same girl twice, always losing my armor, always losing my gun, and was never able to defeat her. i was not really having fun, either. i really want to know why there isnt another pinball table before the final boss. id love to see someone again who can challenge my skill. its not like the bosses are that difficult. i was never too worried about getting destroyed by the teacher. the metal-skeletoned whore was just too damn difficult and that was the end of that, at least for me. i was thinking about trying the story mode again, but i wasnt very motivated to do so. all of that is before i even played the fifth and final stage.
whoever is planning on playing this senran kagura peach ball game should first, ideally, actually play senran kagura peach before they get to the new game. while senran kagura peach actually does go into a bit more depth on some things, it never really just gets too deep into anything, instead bouncing from one theme to the next with the girls just being who they are . senran kagura peach is basically just like a giant pinball game wrapped into a book, with the main difference being that youre playing it for longer periods of time. if you want to play the game for a long period of time, you need to play the other two games first so that you understand how to play the game. in all honesty, at the end of the day, theres not much to say about this senran kagura peach ball game. its not even worth giving a review on because you need to play the game so that you can get the full experience. this senran kagura peach ball game is just like the third pinball game in the series, with two different tables. the only real difference is the four different stages and the new bosses. and then that really is it, because thats basically the entire game. its not any more than that.
your saga starts at a prequel to senran kagura peach ball, with the ninja helping an injured shinobi girl to her feet. she hands her one of the glowing, peach-shaped balls, and tells the shinobi to launch it with her hand. the shinobi hesitates before launching, but hes too late. the ball darts off and goes soaring through the air, smacking into the table, and causing it to start shaking and rattle like crazy.
theres no question that peach ball is one of senran kagura peach ball best features. and so its also one of its weakest. even in its current state, the ball is so bouncy that it isnt exactly great fun. why make it too bouncy? the answer is: if you dont make the tables move, people will just be walking around aimlessly.
when you have to chase a ball around the pinball table, and the ball never does anything, the whole pinball game seems to revolve around its own game mechanics, rather than anything else. its a neat feature, but as a pinball game theres simply too little else in it.
from the main menu, theres a few options you can use. which enemies are in the room, how many peach balls are left, and whether a senran kagura versus table is in the room. as you carry on through the game though, youll see each of these options slowly disappear until youre back to one of four chairs. once its reduced to one, youll see another chair appear. the game will thus keep throwing more and more tables at you, until youre finally left with only one option to progress.
one good thing about senran kagura peach ball is that once youre faced with that one final table, you dont ever have to deal with it again. after clearing the area, theres a little cutscene where the game notes youve cleared out the enemies and rewards you with a special item. youll notice that senran kagura peach balls item selection system is a bit wonky. theres things you can get from clearing an enemy, but theyre in text such as special item and “®more fun®”, meaning you wont know what they are. once you complete all four tasks, the game instead presents you with a “®infection®”, “®good luck®”, “®this is punk®”, or “®you think you can do it?®” final task, which has to be completed or youre back to trying out for a table.
