This guide will give you a basic walk-through of this screensaver pack.
So you have downloaded a file named Vista Screensaver Ported to XP.exe. This is not your usual screensaver pack and it does not come with any automatic installation wizard or a setup. A small application window pops up after you start the download process, but that’s all.
You will need to run the Vista Screensaver Ported to XP.exe directly. If you double-click on it, nothing will happen. So click on it, and choose to run it directly from the Desktop.

I always wondered why it is that the books by Dan Brown get wonderful, interesting, and deep stories and the “real authors” never make it. I still keep looking for the next Booker prize winner. And then came this book, and I was so disappointed that I didn’t finish it. A disappointing choice for this website, and not even the best of the short story category.

This is why you need to adjust the settings, to be able to get the desired duration.

If you are one of the users of Windows XP that are constantly on the lookout for enhancements for your operating system, then Vista Screensaver Ported to XP might be of interest to you. It is a screensaver pack that allows you to enjoy four Windows Vista animated screen-savers on your XP OS.
The collection is comprised of Aurora, Bubbles, Mistify and Ribbons screen-savers, some of the most popular desktop protection animations.

As an example, for “Bubbles” you can enable or disable multiple monitor spanning support, set the turbulence speed, force or number of octaves and adjust the sphere density or radius.
For “Aurora” you can set the number of layers, brightness level, speed or amplitude. With “Ribbons”, you can change the number of ribbons, the ribbon width, enable blurring or spanning across multiple monitors.
