PCs owned by singular users have some options destined for multi-user that are not necessary and in some cases annoying or memory consuming.
The XP Start Menu Logoff application was designed to be a small utility that removes the Log Off option from XP's Start Menu.
It manages to accomplish this by changing the adding/changing the StartMenuLogoff value in:
HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer. This solution is non-invasive by nature and does not affect other system features and functions.
In order to make this program work, you need to run XP_SMLogoff.exe and a confirmation dialog will appear when finished.
You will need to log off/back on or restart your computer for the change to take effect.
Upon system restart, you will notice that when presing the start menu, the only option left are the "Shut down" and "Restart" buttons.
However, take note that this process is reversible, and the Logoff feature can be restored at any time, without the need to reinstall the OS.
All you need to do is open the application again, and uncheck the "Disable Start Menu Logoff" option.
The app is lightweight and does not tamper with the system registries.

See Nocona, Texas, From the Air

I’ve lived in Texas as long as I’ve lived in the United States, but I just moved to Nocona from Alamo, Texas. The city is about 25 minutes from Fort Worth.

So recently I’ve started exploring new grounds. Looking out the window, I realized something, Nocona looks like a town from a bygone era, it looks like it’s full of children. I drove around Nocona and saw some of the best places you can get a drink, eat and watch all things western.

The fair is still happening so we went to the horsemanship portion, it was pretty cool to see 3-5 years olds riding a 6-8 hands high horse.

Next we stopped by the zoo. It’s not huge but it’s cool. It’s also very affordable. Just make sure you get there early if you want to take a tour.

We couldn’t park there so we drove a few extra minutes, we stopped at a little place that’s known for a very delicious ribs and barbecue. They put them on a platter for you to take home.

It also has a unique blue cheese burger. But next time I’m ordering the ribs instead.

Next we took a walk through the town square where all kinds of wild west shows are happening. We saw a two-man group of knife throwers, a man who could swing a golf club with his feet, a man who could fit a baby in the palm of his hand, rope tricker, and a man who wears a jacket that looks

* The program removes the Log off option from the XP Start Menu.
* This is NOT a Logoff app.
* It removes the Logoff option from the Start Menu List.
* It does not affect the Logoff actions performed by other programs.
* It does not affect any other registry keys or files.
* It is fully reversible.
* After installing, select the deselect the “Disable Start Menu Logoff” option, then restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
* The program will automatically disable it again when finished.
Instructions:
* In order to load the file, run the application. If the XP_SMLogoff.exe file does not appear in the Start Menu, restart your computer.
* On the Start Menu, select “Applications”.
* Select “Accessories” and select “Start Menu Logoff”
* Select the “Disable Start Menu Logoff” option. Press the “Next” button until done.
* Reboot your computer for the changes to take effect.
* Select the “Disable Start Menu Logoff” option to add the Log off option back to the Start Menu. Press the “Next” button until done.
* Your system will reboot automatically.
NOTE: This will not remove “Shut Down” from the Start Menu List.

The basics of the program are simple.
The user is presented with a single GUI (Graphical User Interface) screen and a single button.

And a “View all” button will show when the “View all” option is selected.

The primary function of this application is to disable the Shut Down, Restart, and Log Off options of the Start menu of the current user.
XP_StartMenuLogoff.exe is a simple application that disables the Shut Down, Restart and Log Off options of the current user’s Start menu.
The file can be run at any time after being installed.

I have tested this application on several different hardware configurations and I am very satisfied with the results.
I recommend installing the application to all systems, but be aware that it does change the appearance of the Start menu and you will need to restart/logoff at some point to apply changes.
