In April, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that the future of Star Wars movies would be determined by Disney shareholders, and Kennedy took a stand against micro-capitalization. Ive always known that we will see Star Wars stories in all of the Disney parks but its way past time for a significant portion of Star Wars to come from within the Disney orbit, she said. I want it to be very clear that Star Wars remains at the very heart of what we do at Disney. Its something that we all believe very passionately in and it will always be there. She added that she was committed to seeing the story unfold across all media and platforms, which is something that she believes will help with merchandising. But Disney had to find a way to show shareholders that it was worth investing in a galaxy far, far away.
Spidey’s arch-nemesis, Venom, is up next, with plans to cast Tom Hardy as the red-suited, bird-beaked antihero. While there’s been no official confirmation yet, the Venom movie is expected to coincide with Black Panther and Captain Marvel and feature an ensemble cast. No one has yet been confirmed for a role in the new film, though Black Panther’s Michael B. Jordan is said to be in talks for the part.
Sony’s Marvel movies division president Amy Pascal has confirmed that the character Carnage will appear in Venom , if director Ruben Fleischer can agree on a budget for the project. Scary to think about the version of Carnage that will be in the movie (I’d want to see a gorier version of him, and hopefully a more visceral one).
I really loved this movie. Its about a family man who finds out his wife and kids are being terrorized by some giant killer worms from the space and the only man who can save them is an astronaut who crash lands on earth. Even though its a stupid movie, you cant help but like the characters on this and you can see them that they were acting like real people. Plus its fun to watch the space marines from the other planet fight giant killer worms.
While I do believe that Europe has a lot of potential for superhero movies. Theyre just not adapted by the studios, which is a problem. But if we could get a person who could adapt a comic, and who could adapt a comic that would work with each other. I want to go with a European, and theres two different ones who have the potential to be amazing. Thats my dream. And I still think that thats possible, if the right people think its possible.
Here are a few things I know for sure about the sequel, besides its coming out in 2010: 1. Dave Bautista will play the cocksure bodyguard Kick-Ass again. 2. Kevin Smith will probably cameo again, possibly as a cross-dressing wise man. 3. Christopher Mintz-Plasse will definitely be a future bad guy, possibly in an alternate-universe Wolverine movie.
The original script revolved around the trio uniting to fight the Red Mist, who had killed Kick-Ass at the beginning of the first movie. In the sequel, its unclear if they will be able to unite, since Iron Man and the Avengers are not in the movie at all.
Were making a childrens’ cartoon, where theyve created Voltron, with like ten girls that put on one person’s face, and they slap high-heeled boots on. The hero is this horrible person, like, this complete psycho stalker. And hes based on the guy from the first movie. He has been around before. But we give a reason to bring him in now, its like, that was his story in New York. And then we bring him back to Queens to show whats happened to his life, because we want to have him growing up. We want to see where hes going, because thats a character that is an old man. If we did it as a comedy, the way I envisioned it, hed be in wheelchair. You gotta find a way to turn these characters into a new form of entertainment, because they have been lost to the cool zone. Their lost, and its just a time to make them cool again.
