The hotspot is pretty generic. From the phone it shows as one Ethernet connection, and the computers on the network show as another. Depending on your router there should be some option in the DHCP (Automatic Discovery) settings that says “I have a WiFi connection” or “I have an Ethernet connection”. Go through those steps and select your device. In the screen that says “Enable Networking”, there is a drop down, where you can choose “WiFi Connections” or “Ethernet Connections”. If your smartphone doesn’t show up in that list (or it just shows as “Off”), then the hotspot is not broadcasting an SSID (Which is what a device can see and connect to) and there is no way your phone can connect to it.
